  4. How does the program manage without using filenames ?

  6. Answer:  The program does use filenames.  However, it is not
  7. necessary for you to know them.  The program represents each
  8. file with a record in its database.  The records contain the
  9. filename, location of the file and which application is
  10. needed.

  13. What about my existing files that already have filenames ?

  15. Answer:  No problem.  You can make Perfect Recall recognize
  16. any filename.  Furthermore, utility programs are provided
  17. that will read your disks and automatically construct
  18. records for existing files.

  21. Does Perfect Recall have a fixed format for storing things or
  22. can I configure it to my own needs ?

  24. Answer:  Perfect Recall can be fully customize to accommodate
  25. any type of work.  Furthermore, you can completely re-
  26. organize everything at a later date without re-entering
  27. data.

  30. Will it load files into any application program ?

  32. Answer:  Yes.  Application specific instructions can be
  33. created to load files into any program including windows.
  34. Only OS/2 programs are not supported as yet.  This will come
  35. later.

  38. What kind of computer hardware is needed ?
  39. System Requirements

  41. Required memory:  Perfect Recall will run on any IBM
  42. compatible computer with DOS 3.1 or later.  The program
  43. requires about 545k of memory.  This is accomplished however
  44. by usig overlays which the program must swap in and out of
  45. memory from time to time.  In order to prevent this from
  46. slowing things down your computer will require about
  47. 1/2 megabyte of EMS memory or RAM disk space. Todays
  48. computers typically have 2-3 megabytes of EMS memory.

  50. Hard disk:  Perfect Recall must be installed on a hard disk
  51. with 1.9 megabytes of space available.

  53. Microprocessor speed:  Although Perfect Recall will run on any
  54. IBM compatible system it is never-the-less unrealistic to
  55. attempt it on anything less than a 286.  Above a 286 the
  56. type of processor will not make a great deal of difference
  57. in speed.  What will make a difference is a fast hard disk
  58. or extra memory for a RAM disk and one mega EMS.
